RHR Moons For Chics, affectionately known as “Henry,” is a bay/chestnut colt by Maverick and out of RHR Moon Valentine. He combines speed, good conformation, an excellent mind, and the kind of friendly disposition that makes him easy to picture as a true all-around family horse.
Henry was the high-scoring weanling in the 2023 Weanling Challenge, where his trainer, Valerie, gave him an excellent foundation through her 4-H experience. Since then, he has continued to develop into a willing, sensible young horse with plenty of potential.

Over the summer, Henry spent 90 days with Braden Bernier, where he gained valuable miles riding out on the ranch. He has now been back at Rocking Heart Ranch for about a month, and our team has continued riding him out on the trails while beginning to introduce him to cattle work. We are also starting to swing a rope off him as part of developing him into a versatile ranch and recreational horse.

One of Henry’s standout qualities is his movement. He is smooth, athletic, and moves well enough that we believe he could have potential in both Western and English disciplines. He has already been ridden in an English saddle and continues to show the adaptability and attitude needed to go in multiple directions.

We see Henry becoming the kind of horse that can truly do a little bit of everything — head out on the trail, work cattle, compete at a gymkhana, become a 4-H project, or simply be a dependable family horse. With his friendly nature, good mind, athletic ability, and growing foundation, Henry has all the ingredients to become a versatile partner for years to come.
